Some NHL teams will travel 50,000 miles and stay in hotels 60+ nights in a season.....while it is still days away from home, family and routines, travel for the player is as pain free as it possibly can be, with chartered flights, prepared meals and five star hotels.....but it's still travel. A veteran coach can often times realize the need to give players a day off, telling them "Rest is a Weapon" and sometimes it's better to be off the ice than on.....every little edge counts in a grueling 82 game regular season.
