Next to getting sent to the jungle, being a healthy scratch is brutal...for the select few that won't be playing in the evening match the morning skate turns into an early afternoon bag skate which means taking a cab back to the hotel and eating leftovers. Game time was either in the press box or the team bus as you didn't want to interfere with the "flow" of the dressing room. On the upside....you are still in the National League and collecting a fat paycheck every two weeks.
