FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 8, 2015
PHOENIX, AZ – Sauce Hockey today announced its collaboration with more than 20 National Hockey League (NHL) stars and television host Mike Kelly for the creation of the Sauce Hockey Challenge. Presented by Sauce Hockey and created by Kelly, the project will not only entertain fans but also enhance the charitable efforts of the league's players.
A series of short clips filmed in anticipation of the 2015-16 season and viewable at www.SauceHockey.com, the challenge affords each star with 10 chances to sauce their puck into a miniature hockey net. The player with the most goals earns the title of the 2015 Sauce Hockey Challenge Champion, and a very important check. On behalf of the winner, Sauce Hockey will donate $10,000 to the charity of his choice. A list of participants can be found below.
Sauce Hockey continues to prove itself a leader in the market of designer lifestyle clothing and a company that cares about the communities of its customers. The Sauce Hockey Challenge serves as the latest in its growing lineup of exciting collaborations that benefit youth hockey, the community, and the fashion industry.
“We're excited to team up with Mike Kelly and some of the best hockey players in the word for the Sauce Hockey Challenge. This challenge allows us to give back through our donation to the winner's charity in a fun and unique competition format,” said Eric Kleineck, Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of the brand. “The game of hockey has been so good to us, so we're looking forward to helping out a worthy cause while seeing who throws the best sauce!”
Kelly, a sportscaster with 10 years of experience in television broadcasting, has a vision for bringing entertaining hockey content to fans across the globe. He has served as a host for both the NHL Network and TSN after giving up his dream of playing professional hockey when, at the age of 15, he realized he couldn't take a slapshot without falling down.
“I'm thrilled to be able to bring this unique web series to hockey fans around the world,” said Kelly. “Partnering with Sauce Hockey has provided a great opportunity to give back to charity while watching an amazing group of athletes compete against each other. I think fans will enjoy seeing some of their favorite players showcase their skills and personalities in a competition unlike any other.”
Sauce Hockey will keep fans updated via a live scoreboard as the competition progresses. The videos will commence on Sept. 9.
